Job description
Lead microbiome science at 30M Genomics. One opening, based at the Hyderabad operating office.
Lead microbiomics research at 30M Genomics, driving gut microbiome analysis, microbial genomics, and metagenomics workflows.
Develop and optimize laboratory protocols, oversee sample processing and sequencing or targeted assays, interpret microbiome data, and establish robust quality control practices.
Collaborate with R&D, laboratory, and product teams to translate research findings into reliable, evidence-based applications.
Candidates must hold a PhD or MSc in a related field, with at least 5 years of relevant experience and hands-on expertise in microbiome research.
What you will do
Plan and run microbiome research: sample handling, sequencing or targeted assays, and analysis workflows.
Build protocols and quality checks that can sit next to existing PGx lab practice.
Review literature and keep claims matched to evidence — pipeline work is labelled as pipeline.
Work with PGx, lab, and product colleagues so microbiome output can eventually inform the same clinician workflow.
Preferred qualifications
PhD or MSc with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the relevant domain (microbiome, microbial genomics, metagenomics, or a closely related laboratory science).
Hands-on experience with 16S, shotgun metagenomics, or equivalent microbiome methods.
Ability to write protocols and interpret results without over-claiming clinical utility.
Proficient communicative English for methods, SOP, internal notes, research documentation and discussion.
Benefits
Expanding into deep research and an interdisciplinary ecosystem.
Exposure to wider networking opportunities, being at the biotech hub.
Morning / evening shifts with a good work-life balance.
Congenial work style with persistent brainstorming and internal meetings.
